LC Conversation Changing Beaded Yoke Blouse
The holiday party at Rothschild, Bluhdorn & Cromwell attempted to appear unstuffy by telling its employees to dress business casual. Pant suits and tweed jackets galore. For two decades the itinerary was always the same. Until today...
—7:30PM - Party promptly begins.
—7:31PM - Champagne served.
—7:35PM - Beluga on toast points served.
—7:45PM - Blaine E. Rothschild toasts the fiscal year.
—8:10PM - Rothschild wraps it up and the inter-company ass kissing begins.
—8:25PM - You show up wearing this. The crowd hushes.
—8:26PM - Camille Bluhdorn loves your chiffon wide leg pants with the velvet waistband. Cromwell too; says he can hear you whisking by like a crisp ocean breeze. The sycophants fall in line as Rothschild compliments your modern day “Juliette” beaded blouse and trend bucking ensemble, drawing parallels to your conquest of the Svengali merger.
—8:52PM - You convince Rothschild’s 4th wife, Sasha, to sing “Santa Baby” on stage.
—9:01PM - People finally start acting like themselves.
—10ish - Most of the employees realize they actually like each other.
—12:47AM - You decide, again, and for the last time, to never question your instincts.
