The Chameleon in Merino Wool.
We set out for Mizen Head around sunup.
I’m confident that my windbreaker can handle the cool air on the bluffs overlooking the Atlantic. She’s wearing a knitted shrug over a T-shirt. It’s a lovely look, but the outfit seems ill-equipped to face down any wind or rain.
Not ten minutes pass before dark clouds form over the ocean. “What do you think? Should we consider turning?”
I swallow my words as soon as I look back at her transformed ensemble. She’s shaped it into a poncho now. She overtakes me and steps into the light rain as it falls and quickly mats the windbreaker against my skin.
The rain subsides. Without breaking stride, she sheds the cloth, coolly snapping it around her shoulders and fastening the front to form a cape. It wafts in the wind as she bounds farther away up the trail.
Irish Poncho (No. 5835). 100% Aran-stitched Merino wool (exceptionally soft).
Surprisingly versatile buttoning and seams form into a shrug, poncho, or cape. Made in Ireland. One size.
