Oversized English Turtleneck
The Savoy Hotel, London.
You’ve been out all day and want to change into something easy and comfortable to grab a drink at the American Bar (which is both the name and the style of cocktails).
You emerge wearing this with a pair of leggings. The bartender says he saw you come in but now you look different. He can’t put his finger on it.
“Taller,” you hear from the end of the bar, where an English woman finishes up her libation then holds up her glass.
“Back to reality,” she says.
The bartender gets busy making something. Apparently, that’s a type of drink, not a statement of life.
The woman looks you up and down approvingly. “You’ve discovered the English secret to lengthening thyself, my dear.”
Oversized English Turtleneck (No. 5801). Lightweight sweater knit blend with a hint of cashmere. Hugs you softly. Some aspects that make you look longer: the tunic length, the long, ribbed sleeve cuffs, the oversized turtleneck. Fully fashioned sweater construction. Goes on easily; wanting to take it off is less so. Imported.
