LC Paulette Skirt
Victorian Age of Hollywood (oh yes, it’s possible).
I’m sitting next to Thomas Gainsborough on a bench in Geneva (he has brush, palette and canvas). We’re watching Paulette Goddard saunter this way (she’s wearing this sleeveless blouse and exposed zipper skirt).
It’s a windy spring day. Crystal blue sky. Edith Piaf singing nearby.
What would Thomas do? Would Paulette stand still long enough for a proper portrait? They are both so contrary. How interesting could this be?
Thomas’s Mrs. William Villebois portrait sold for $10 million and Paulette Goddard brought the film Kitty to life in 1945, which of course is why they are together with me today.
So… be honest. Did Thomas capture it?
