While La Rive Gauche may not be what it used to there are still some nooks and crannies of the old guard. Where a few people speak Latin the way the university students did in the ’20s.
She was of that ilk.
Hers was a small gallery. The kind of place where pieces pop up that were reported stolen (in 1650). She showed me various oils painted by peasants. Dark and primal pieces by artists who were not commissioned and had zero notoriety.
The work endures.
She had an edge to her as well. Intimidating yet elegant.
The Mandarin Collar Coat (No. 4438). Knit-cotton blend. 1 3/8” mandarin collar. 5 hidden, lining covered snaps down center front. On seam pockets at front princess seam. Shell is cotton-nylon blend. Back yoke with princess seams that extend from bottom of yoke to hem. Fully lined.
