Nostalgic Button-Front Dress
I hold our archives in very high esteem, but I’m biased.
So many relationships that time has forgotten.
The Pioneer Dressfrom the fall of ‘95.
FDR’s Capefrom our second book (1988).
The Chambray Skirtfrom book five (back when our smallest size was a 6, when 6 was today’s 4; things were a lot simpler back then).
Euphoric from nostalgia, I see an ocean of buttons on a feminine fit-and-flare.
There was no train ticket, no airfare to find it, only a deep dive into the past.
There’s a story to this dress: A neon Ferris wheel. Bare feet in cold sand. A glance. A beat skipped. A ticking clock. A future unfulfilled but thoughtfully imagined.
The memories, like the dress, remained safely kept.
