The Floral Print A-Line Dress
Power in Print.
Not all prints are immune to controversy.
In parts of 14th-century France, striped fabrics might have gotten you deemed a rabble-rouser and sent to the wheel. Yes, one could literally be caught dead in stripes.
Remember the girl in the Ambassador Hotel in the polka dot dress? For a time, J. Edgar Hoover didn’t think polka dots were fun and flirty.
The floral print, however, is above suspicion.
Flowers have their own language, their own cryptology.
Beauty, grace, and fancy are why we put them on our clothes, our walls, our yards, and our tables.
We’ve gone with something different with this floral print. Cool, electric orange and purple. Vibrant. A bit mod (60s London is still authentically vintage).
This dress won’t put you in harm’s way, but that doesn’t mean it won’t get you into trouble.
