GIFT BOX: (Add $6 dollars).
Mad Woman.

Dinner won’t be at 6.

She won’t be happier with a Hoover.

She’s not your girl.

She wasn’t back then either. In the 1950s the “housewife” stereotype did exist but women didn’t just wear aprons and sit at home deferring to the man of the house. My mother didn’t. Her friends didn’t. Yes, we’re left with a lot of comically sexist advertising to look back on but the truth is women weren’t all that different. It’s the men that needed handling (it’s still a work in progress).

These were powerful women.

They wore dresses like this.

The Mid-Century Tulip Sleeve Dress (No. 3855). Polyester and wool blend. V-neckline. Empire waist. Bust darts. Belt loops on side seams. Adjustable black leather belt with bow detail at front. Below knee length. Back fitting darts. Fully lined. Invisible zipper at center back seam. Imported.

  • Fabric Content: 52% Polyester, 48% Wool. Care Instructions: Dry Clean Only. Length: Ranges 40
