LC Floral Tweed Blazer
An open letter to American women.
The so-called experts haven’t given you the proper goods.
You don’t wear enough of it.
Somehow, in this country, tweed has become synonymous with men’s clothing.
Men’s suits, jackets and pants.
When did this happen?
It’s not like this across the pond where tween, or twill, or whatever the supposed first name actually was, skyrocketed to popularity because of its durability and climate resistance.
Just because something is durable and can be worn to put food on the table doesn’t mean it’s not feminine.
I’ll shoulder some of the blame. A dull brown tweed doesn’t necessarily inspire the feminine form.
How about a rich blue, beautifully textured English garden in a breathable, relaxed fit blazer? A classic English pattern in a classic Irish fabric.
Whoever said tweed was only for the men is living in a world I simply won’t tolerate.
I will no longer shoulder the blame.
This is on you now.
Or at least should be, darling.
