There is something extremely feminine and fanciful about smocking. Also childlike.
Can take you back to days of swinging on Nana’s porch, that double-scoop of French Vanilla ice cream on a sugar cone in hand. Butterflies in the sun-dappled meadow surrounded by tall Georgia pines.
Smocking was originally used on farming garments for movement and comfort. This was long before elastic. But even today, it’s still more effective. Smocking lasts. Elastic does not.
What does this all mean for you?
