Contrast Cuff & Collar Shirt
$98$34
The Opposite of Mundane.
Something happened along the way. I’m not even sure when it happened, how it happened, or who did it. Years ago, men would roll up their sleeves for very practical reasons—it was hot or there was some sort of labor that needed to be done.
Then the white collars started rolling them up in an almost metaphorical way. Something in our DNA said, if you roll up your sleeves, you’re battening down the hatches, getting down to brass tacks, ready to crunch those numbers. This, of course, was from a time when heavily starched white shirts under mundane jackets constituted the American male uniform.
Now, you can wear a navy button-up with the sleeves rolled up from the get go, revealing your casual-yet-striking, brass-tacks-ready mode of operation. If this sticks, there may come a time when rolling your sleeves down is the contrarian way. But for now…
Contrast Cuff & Collar Button-Up (No. 5658). Soft cotton. Contrasting gingham check inside collar and cuff. Point collar, shirttail hem. It’s your normal everyday button-up. With a little flash. Imported.
