LC Jermyn Street Shirt
Men who have a keen eye for fashion get their suits on Savile Row and their shirts on Jermyn Street.
This is one of those shirts.
I was at one of our Italian mills when I spied three rolls of very fine cloth sitting in a corner.
"Hold for T.S." the tag read.
"An order I am holding for a London shirt maker," my fabric man said.
I lowered my glasses, looked over the rim, and gave him one of my famous stern looks.
"Where do you want it sent?"
Jermyn Street Check Shirt (No. 4569). A yarn-dyed poplin made from the finest Egyptian cotton. The classic spread collar, worn open, sits up perfectly under a sport coat. (Also goes well with a Windsor knot — perfectly tied). Genuine mother-of-pearl buttons on the six-button front and adjustable two-button cuffs. Slightly rounded hem. Mitered left chest pocket.
Friends will ask, “Who’s your shirtmaker?”
