Why Painters Wear White.
—White is the easiest color to bleach.
—A painter with white clothes that are mostly white suggests a painter of exceptional skill (or perhaps lacking experience).
—Because that’s what the unions decided painters should wear.
—Because dyed fabric is more expensive.
—It’s hot outside and white clothing remains the coolest.
Like a lot of smart and practical workwear, the details associated with doing your job well end up making you look interesting and unconventional in the process.
These are casual pants that look great rolled or cuffed, with bucks, deck shoes, or sneakers. They hold all your essentials, and who knows, maybe a streak or two of paint on these could start a fashion trend (not that we encourage such things).
Painter's Pants (No. 6074). Straight leg style in 100% cotton canvas. Antique brass shank buttons. Tons of pockets including interior pocket bags with additional pouch that can come outward (carpenters call these nail bags). Patch pockets at left thigh. Back patch pockets. Eye-catching paint brush holder on left thigh (looks good with or without the paint brush). Hammer loops (if you’re really serious). Unhemmed. Imported.
