The Modified Motorcycle Jacket
The Wild One.
Before the “street bike” emerged, there were Café Racers and “Bobbers”; stock bikes made by British and American icons, shaved down and heavily modified for speed more than style.
Riding these steel horses was a new kind of rebel. Some were young men coming back from war, adapting clothing and attitudes born over the war-torn skies of Europe to motorsport. Others joined from a new generation coming of age to a Rock and Roll beat, and breaking more rules than just the speed limit.
The Modified Motorcycle Jacket (No. 5639). Slim fitting, supple pebbled cowhide; think of it as a “second skin”. We’ve softened this premium leather to save you the miles of hard riding needed to break it in. The waist is a little higher than usual; just like those of the 1950s. Body is fully lined in poly twill. The asymmetric exposed metal zipper and adjustable belted waist are as practical as they are good looking. Shoulder epaulettes with snaps. Four exterior front pockets and one interior pocket. Comfortable bi-swing back with gusseted, zippered sleeve openings. Like a vintage bike, it looks good because it was built for the road. Imported.
