Thousand And One Nights Dress
A Thousand and One Nights.
If you need further proof of the depths to which a man’s insecurity can result in drastic and absurd behavior look no further than the tale of Scheherazade.
Upon finding out his wife was unfaithful the king took a new wife each day, the previous one dispatched (a sophisticated way of saying murdered), thus eliminating the opportunity for her to be unfaithful.
Over the top? A bit.
Scheherazade volunteered to heal the king’s wounded heart by telling him a story. However, she withheld the climax just as dawn crested the horizon. The king kept her alive for one more day to finish. This went on for days, nights, and one wondrous story after another. After a thousand and one nights Scheherazade was out of tales to tell, but by that time the king had fallen in love.
Never underestimate the power of a little mystery.
