Ceciles Lace Blouse
One of a Kind.
I look forward to December 26 and Cecile’s Boxing Day party.
She’s neither Canadian nor British. She’s French Catholic, which begs the question as to why she celebrates Boxing Day at all. “Christmas is too commercial. Too big. Too red. Too gauche,” she says (in that Cecile way with that Cecile accent), like she’s Elsa Schiaparelli uttering disdain for anything Chanel.
We need people like Cecile, the beautiful contrarians. People to critique our third draft and then ply us with scotch and coconut cake. To be held in her embrace, literally and figuratively, is what those artists and vagabonds along the left bank must have felt like at 27 rue de Fleurus.
I show up for all the above reasons.
And it’s imperative that I see what she’s wearing.
Cecile’s Lace Blouse (No. 5533). Appropriate for all occasions (unlike Cecile). Poly-stretch floral lace with nude lining (yoke and sleeves unlined). French seam finishes, boat neckline. Wonderful scalloped edges on 3/4-length sleeves and sweep. Imported.
Pairs well with The Taffeta Resplendent Skirt (No. 3054).
