Carlos Italian Woven Loafers
Guido’s Brother, Carlo.
Per Carlo, the Italians were the first to legislate the “handsfree” law. See, if you’re Italian, you talk with your hands. If you’re driving and holding your cell phone and gesturing maddeningly, there is nothing left to steer with. This is a problem.
Carlo, who I’ve known for 25 years, was everything Italian you could not make up. He was unmarried. Had countless girlfriends. Drove an Alfa (with a handsfree device). Wore woven Italian loafers with no socks and linen pants. He made puttanesca when he felt like a midnight snack. He also looked really, really good, all the time.
To say I was a bit jealous would be an understatement.
At least I got the shoes.
Carlo’s Italian Woven Loafers (No. 5507). Comfortable. Sturdy. Unbearably chic with or without socks. Genuine leather. They even have the aroma of sophistication (literally). Certain men are able to pull these off with shorts. With a seersucker or linen suit, any man looks good.Made in Italy.
