Vintage Piano Shawl Skirt (No. 3532). It’s not known which turn-of-the-century woman first eyed the fringed piece of embroidered cloth on top of the grand piano and thought of the possibilities. But be glad someone did.

My version is from Paris, and it’s black, which gives it an entirely new spin. Along with it being in 100% silk satin weave. Little self-belt at back. Different lengths create an angled hemline ending in long feathery fringe.

It also likes to go out at night.
