Exposure to a large amount of art in a single place (named after the French writer Stendhal who suffered from it) is a psychosomatic illness that causes rapid heartbeat, dizziness, confusion, and even hallucinations.

Strangely enough, my friend Jacques, whom I was with at Grand Palais in Paris for the Monet exhibition, featuring over 200 of the master’s paintings, was oddly unaffected.
