I’m on a 1963 Moto Guzzi Falcone Sport motorcycle, as is Caterina, racing along the Italian coast on this hot August morning.

Maremma is on the horizon.

“Butteris, cashmere, and sunflowers!” she yells, peeling away.

Caterina is a far better driver. I chase her for two hours, weaving in and out of traffic, plenty of time to inspect her leather handbag flapping in the wind, or against her at stoplights.
