It was my somewhat bombastic Irish musician friend singing his favorite poem over the din at the Atlantic Bar just off Savile Row.

All I had asked him was to tell me about the jacket I was admiring since he walked in.

He said, "That's what I was doing."

To make a long poem short, George Harrison got the jacket from Ravi Shankar as a gift during their Bangladesh concert.

Who in turn got it from an American student, who nicked it from his great uncle, Douglas Fairbanks Jr, who got it from Cary Grant after they finished shooting "Gunga Din."

"How I got it," he said, "is another story."

I ordered another round of Jameson's. It is after all times like this that whiskey is distilled for.
