Unusual walnut boxed antique Peugeot pepper mill. Peugeot of France created the pepper grinder in 1842. Often copied, but never equaled, the mechanism made of case hardened steel is designed to crack the peppercorns before the actual grinding process. It is original, complete, and fully functional. By turning the crank arm, the conical burr grinder allows the peppercorns to be ground with precision and uniformity. There is a tension key to adjust the grind. The brass plaque reads PEUGEOT FRERES, VALENTIGNEY (doubs). France, Ca. 1910. Peugeot pepper mill (C948). Dimensions: 4.5”H x 3.5”W x 3.5”D. Shipping: $10.
