Sterling Silver Meat, Salad, and Dessert Serving Set. An unusual 5-piece set in an intricate and finely chased design. The French assay mark for sterling silver, the head of the goddess Minerva, is stamped on each handle.

The set comprises a carving knife stamped Paris, carving fork boasting a well executed stag decoration on the meat stabilizer, salad fork, salad spoon, and dessert server elaborately etched with floral and foliate pattern.

The original fitted wooden chest is leather covered and lined in black felt and red satin. The inside lid is gold stamped with the maker’s name; Petetin Freres, Horloger Bijoutier, Vienne. France, Ca. 1880-1900.
