The Spotted Cat is crowded. Local jazz bands are on all night. My sonin- law, who is a Monarch of Orpheus, is still in full costume. I have been sipping bourbon with him all night.

"Quite a parade," I say.

"A subtle celebration." He motions to his outrageous outfit. "Be honest. This is going to be in the catalog, right?"

"Still deciding."

"Yeah," He motions to the stage. "What about that?"

Two musicians step to the little wooden stage. The taller man is wearing this sweater. It is, well, in a word, confident. Cool. It stands out in its simplicity and style. I hadn't seen anything like it.
