Classic European Roberval letter scale with one weight and one letter plate. Three weights are inserted in the base….10 grams, 30 grams and 50 grams. Solid brass on wooden base. The letter plate is stamped the initials N.B. The Roberval system utilizes an equal arm beam with pans above the beam, stabilized by a leg and a stay underneath the beam, thus preventing the pans from tipping as they move up and down. Italy, Ca. 1880.
