Antique Counter Scale.

Cast iron single beam scale to weigh up to 2 lbs. It utilizes the Reberval system whereby the pans are kept level as they move up and down, and more importantly, it prevents the pans from tilting as they move up and down, and this is the principle that ensures that the position of the weights on the pans has no effect on the balance. The scale is complete with sold brass load and weight plates and a set of three iron weights (1 lb, 8 oz, 4 oz) and one 2 oz brass weight. England, Ca. 1895.
