Charles de Gaulle Airport.
The usual madhouse.
I was waiting in line to check my luggage, wondering, as I usually do, if I will ever see it again.
When I saw a most graceful pair of pants darting past me.
They were enhanced by the woman in them, but as usual I was focused on you.
And in that brief first impression (always the most essential) mental notes came quickly.
Need pleats for shape. Wider around ankles. But not that wide. A fabric that was extremely comfortable. Doing incredible things with silk these days.
"Monsieur, Monsieur."
Perhaps an Ottoman weave. What was that density per square inch again?
I felt an insistent tap.
There was a gap in the line you could fit a Piper Cub in.
"Pardon."
(My accent was impeccable.)
Pleat Front Pant (No. 2487). In an Ottoman weave that combines two different weaves for texture. Still it's light enough to drape. Those 4 stitched down front pleats add drama and flow. Had it fully lined. Invisible zipper to keep the front sleek. Double darts for shape.
I would imagine these would look good standing still.
