Unusually large and in superlative condition, this Antique wicker grape hod or back basket was used to gather hops. The worker would strap the basket on his back during harvest time. It is made of whole willow reed with canvas shoulder straps. It is free standing, and would make a unique container for seasonal dried flowers, a collection of walking sticks or umbrellas, as well as a unique and perfect hamper. From the Burgundy region of France. Late 19th century.
