It seems likely that in the 60s, someone putting two and two together must have thought, "Hmmm."
I do know that when I spotted this updated version in this century, I also hmmm'ed.

Edwardian Denim Blazer (No. 3621). You can't keep a long graceful flowing cut to just one century. 96% cotton denim and 4% spandex. Wide lapel with notched collar outlined with contrasting piping. Five metal shank buttons down front and three along the long back vent. Multicolor threading. Princess seams. Patch pockets at hip. Sleeves lined in stripes are snazzy rolled up reaching for a glass of champagne.
You'll wear this to the posh TEFAF Maastricht art fair in the Netherlands and be sized up as a serious player.
Women's sizes: 2 through 18.
