She proclaimed New York night life to be the most boring thing in the world unless you were with people you wouldn’t mind spending time with in the middle of the Sahara.

Lois eventually settled down and focused on fashion where she is recognized as the first person, man or woman, to critique clothing like art.

She embodied the indelible 1920s. Living it and writing about it, some might say she was the 1920s.
