Progress, It Isn't All Bad.

New York Subway strike of the late ’70s. Bank presidents start wearing sneakers to work.

JFK goes hatless at his inauguration. Good-bye, hats.

Steve McQueen, Sean Connery, Bill Holden discard ties in favor of turtlenecks.

Some of it is progress. Now, marooned for a week in Paris or Osaka, this turtleneck sweater will keep you or me well dressed. Relaxed, but just a little dressy. (Both at the same time.) 55% silk, 45% cashmere. Pretty seductive stuff. Warm, but not heavy, not bulky.

Beautifully detailed and finished. Sleek 7" high ribbed turtleneck. Set-in sleeves. 4" ribbed cuffs. Good with blazers, old tweedy jackets, slacks, jeans. People expect to see a Walther PPK strapped over it, so you don’t even need to bother with that. Imported.

Silk/Cashmere Turtleneck, sized for men (No. 1052) and women (No. 1236).

Men’s sizes: S, M, L, XL, XXL.

Color: Black.

Men’s Pure Wool Pants (No. 4898). Finely woven. A slightly bolder pattern than typical wool pants. Requires no exceptional acts of courage to wear. Looks particularly dashing with a black turtleneck. Classic fit, two front pleats. Lined to knee. Made in Portugal.

Men’s even sizes: 32 through 46.

Hemming (max: 37") or cuffing (max: 34"), add $2 per pair.

Color: Black and White Glen Plaid.

I purchased this sweater and have loved it. As advertised it is soft, it is not heavy and it does keep you warm. I took this sweater with me to Germany in the winter and it was great no matter the setting I was in. I have wanted to love this sweater a lot but I am a bit disappointed at the amount of piling that is taking place after just a few wearings. But I do feel wonderful in this garment and will enjoy it for many years.

Love mine
A little surprised at the other review, My wife bought me one at least 10 years ago. I still have it and I bought two more to rotate. Enough said on the quality. I would suggest that the sizing runs bigI am a 44R and an XL swims on me. The Large is fine.

Not quite great.
This is a very nice sweater...just not great. The fit is bang on but there is a flimsiness to it.I usually wear something for a while before reviewing it and I've had this a couple of years now and I think the problem with the flimsiness is the silk / cashmere fabric. Both are wonderfully soft and luxurious on their own but together the sweater has little presence. I don't wear this often so I am surprised at the amount of pilling showing.
