Life With a British Accent.

Out and About Chair

The English countryside explains it. The single most wandered, pondered, etched, watercoloured, photographed, thought about, talked about landscape in the world. Not simply because it is very beautiful, very compact.

But because it contains 850,003 separate locations (cliffs, copses, glens, fens) no sane person can pass it up.

Places where you must stop, must sit down, must think things over.

Out and About Chair

For this purpose the English have invented a contraption that makes it easy to sit down anywhere, sit down properly and spontaneously and start pondering.

Or chatting. Or drinking sherry. Or writing librettos.

It's called the Gadabout.

Out and About Chair (No. 2589). One moment it's an odd (but true) walking stick, the next it unfolds into a sturdy, comfortable armchair. Aluminum and nylon. Amazingly handy. Weighs only 3.4 lbs. Used by the British Army on maneuvers. And Prince Charles on painting trips. You'll think of something. Really quite marvelous. No earthly reason not to have three or four of them near the front door (or in the trunk of your car). At all times. Made in England.

Dimensions folded: 37" x 6" x 3-1/2".

Color: Forest Green.
