Saw them hanging with walking sticks and tennis rackets in an old country inn.

Next evening, strolled with an actress (who is "embarrassingly well known" – her words) and her seven dogs across her estate in Northamptonshire. She was wearing a pair of Wellingtons, an old waxed jacket and an extraordinary paisley scarf.

Had to tell her how much I loved her in her last movie, (the graceful way one puts things when the movie's a turkey) to get her to part with the details.
