Very large Greenalls “Gable Board.” Brewery advertising signs that were mounted on the exterior of the pub were known as “gable boards.” Generally made of fiberglass and molded to be three dimensional.
Over the past ten years many of the breweries that used to have these have either closed or been bought by larger brewers and the new breweries haven’t replaced them. This results in an increased rarity of gable boards.
Greenalls Brewery was founded by Thomas Greenall in 1762 in St. Helens, a town in Merseyside, England. Greenall’s beer is most often found in the St. Helens and Warrington areas.
Greenalls Brewery Pub Sign (No. PS665). Three-dimensional fiberglass sign with gold leaf detail.
