Sit in the glassed-in terrace and look out on Helsinki's Toolo Square on a crisp December day and you'll notice something.
The tourists shuffle along quickly, bundled up in about four layers of sweaters, vests and heavy overcoats.
The locals, on the other hand, seem content to stroll along in a medium-weight jacket – unzipped – and a scarf.
Clearly, they're onto something.
Finnish Cable-Knit Scarf (No. 2530). Found in a vintage clothing store in Harju. It's six feet of 100% cotton comfort. The stitching is actually 36 individual strands of yarn knitted into four cables. The three-gauge knit gives it bulk, but it's light enough for spring and fall, too.
Ideal for November walks across the common or the first sail of spring. Makes you feel very well cared for. Imported.
Color: Antique white with navy stripes.
