Antique wooden grape hod from Jura, the mountain range located north of the Alps, separating the Rhine and Rhone rivers. In France, it covers essentially the region of Franche-Comte, the principal wine growing area of which is Arbois. The hod is constructed of oak staves and iron hoops with leather straps to hang from the back of the worker during harvest time. France, Ca. 1910.
