10 a.m. Stadtpark.
Liesl and I stop in the middle of a blooming field of daisies. "Where did you get this?" I ask admiringly about her coat.
She smiles. "...In 1825, a Hapsburg courtier named Josef Kyselak started the first recorded fitness craze," she picks a daisy. "Wadern, his book called it, tromping vigorously through spring forests," she picks another. "Really just an antidote for the calories in Sachertorte that swept through our aristocracy, anyway, I believe Josef created this splendid blazer I have on today..."
"Are you allowed to pick these flowers?" I mumble, looking around.
"This is Austria, Peterman, not Switzerland!"
Liesl unbuttons her coat, revealing these simple drawstring pants. No shoes actually, she tossed them near the fountain.
Later, she leads me to a little shop on Kartnerstrasse for her real answer.
Enjoy.
