
Antique French dough bin, or kneading trough, is commonly referred to as a “petrin.” The removable lid, which served as the dough board, slides off giving access to the bin used to proof/rise the bread dough mixture. Makes an unusual coffee table, side board, foot of the bed furnishing doubling as an attractive storage piece. Made of European oak, early 19th Century.
