Antique copper tempering bowl, "cue de poule," typically used to temper chocolate, but sauces and creams as well. Tempering involves slowly raising and lowering the temperature of melted chocolate while constantly stirring, the bowl placed over a vessel of simmering water. Solid copper with steel band and handles fixed with solid copper rivets.
