Award winning copper fish poacher made by Andre Bordier, winner of the highly coveted “Un des Meilleurs Ouvriers de France” (literally translated ‘Best Worker of France' award) in 1950. This award was created in 1924 and continues to be given to the best craftsman competing in their field - everything from chocolate making to building trades. Every three years, craftsmen across France compete for the title. Each competitor enters his or her masterpiece, one that demonstrates their craft, which is then evaluated against extremely stringent standards. Engraved metal plaque affixed to the poacher attests to this being the winning object. For a French craftsman, this award beats the Palme d'Or any day!
