EXTRA LARGE antique glass carboy. Very large demi-johns are called carboys and are the most difficult of all the mouth-blown bottles to fashion. Carboys of this size would have been used for red wine fermentation or to export large quantities of wine. The antique coloration of this heavy green glass is beautiful. It has a current “antiqued” label: “Bouchon.” France, Ca. 1910.
