Portable metal vanity, painted in Trompe l'oeil to resemble wood grain. It is on four casters with one drawer and two doors below and two side towel racks. The lid lifts up to reveal a mirror and an earthenware basin and soap dish. The ceramic pieces were made by Luneville, a French faience factory established in 1730 by Jacques Chambrette. They are in their Athenes pattern, a Greek key and marble design. Both pieces are stamped Athenes Luneville and K G for Keller and Guerin who later acquired the company. There is a small, almost unnoticeable chip in the basin. France. Ca. 1900.
