Last Chance Dept.
We shouldn’t be surprised, for it was the Scots who put pizzazz into bloodshed with their colorful and clan-identifying tartans. It was the Scots who invented Estate Tweeds. It was the Scottish shepherds who developed their own check in the 1800s.
Who needs Paris when you’ve got Inverness?
Today, the shepherd’s check (houndstooth to you and me) is everywhere. Interior design. Ties. Shirts. Hats. But it’s best where it started. In jacket form.
As it turns out, that’s the highlander way.
Classic Two Button Houndstooth Sports Jacket (No. 5164). We made the executive decision to go a bit more supple and luxurious than the 19th century shepherds — 96% lambswool and 4% cashmere. Two buttons. Single breasted. Fully lined. Notched collar with black felt underneath. Standard shoulder pads. Four vertical stacked buttons at cuffs. Angled welt pocket at wearer’s left chest. Single welt pockets with curved edge flaps at hips. Double welt interior pockets at inside right and left chest. Waist fitting darts and double back shaping seams. Double back vent.
Men’s sizes: 36 through 54.
Color: Black and Cream Houndstooth.
