Gentlemen Farmers, Industrialists (Mill Owners) Merchants & Bankers all tried their hand at building "Grand Residences", they designed to impress & have sufficient space to entertain the impressed. Many had at least one large room that could be used for this, Snooker Room or Drawing Room to occasionally double as a Ballroom. This table is ideal for afternoon tea for the ladies or drinks for the gentlemen whilst playing snooker or at the ball.
