This antique wicker grape hod or back basket was used to gather grapes. The worker would strap the basket on his back during harvest time. It is made of partially stripped osier (willow reed) which would allow the grapes to breath. It will stand on its wooden base, and would make a unique container for seasonal dried flowers, a collection of walking sticks or umbrellas. From the Auvergne region of South Central France.
