Antique French enamel cast iron stove in a very unusual hexagonal bamboo pagoda shape. Stoves such as this one exhibit high quality casting, artistry in design, and remarkable enamel work. Most have been cast in foundries centered in the Ardennes region of France, the probable source for this stove. It features a removable lid (small chip) exposing the hot plate; six red glass panels; two doors, two handles, and original fuel burner. The stove came from The Café des Promenades in Tonnerre, established in 1880. It was locked and untouched for 41 years until the key was turned in January, 2009. Ca. 1905.
