This antique railroad lamp has an unusually large original glass lens. The oil font (reservoir) inside the hinged door easily slides out to reveal the brass burner with an adjustable wick. It has a handle attached to the chimney or vent as well as a solid steel hook on the back of the lamp for permanent wall mounting. France, Ca. 1890.
