This brass carbide signal lamp has SNCF stamped on the vent: Societe Nationale des Chemins de fer Francaise (French national Railway). There is a rear mounted fuel tank, a clear glass lens in front and one side, red glass lens on the other side, with wooden handle, and a slot on the back for wall mounting. France, Ca. 1900.
